Paris, 25th April – Today the General Assembly of France Chimie unanimously elected Frédéric Gauchet as President of France Chimie for a three-year term. He succeeds to Luc Benoit-Cattin, whose term reached to its end. Frédéric Gauchet, President of the medium-sized company Minafin, had been until now Vice-President of France Chimie

After studying at the École Normale Supérieure (rue d’Ulm) and the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris, Frédéric Gauchet began his career in 1988 at Sanofi, first in the United States and then as Site Director of the Aramon site in France. In 1992, he joined the Total Group, where he was appointed Director in charge of strategy and international development for the paints division.

In 1994, he joined the Vinci Group as Director of the Concessions Department where he was also in charge of Vinci Environnement, Société générale d’exploitation des parcs et garages (Sogeparc). He then leaded the Vinci Concessions and Services division from 1998 to 2002.

From 2002 to 2004, he joined the Baltic company Weitnauer AG, which became Dufry AG in 2003, as Managing Director. In 2004, he founded Minafin Group, a fine chemical company which has today 6 industrial sites and employs over 900 people.

Frédéric Gauchet was Vice President of Cefic (European Chemical Federation) until 2022. He has been a member of France Chimie since 2008 and has been vice-president of the federation since 2014.

Frédéric Gauchet intends to « continue the actions undertaken by the federation to promote a responsible chemistry in France, capable of facing the challenges of reindustrialization and the expectations of our fellow citizens. The context of the energy crisis and the scarcity of certain raw materials gives the French chemical industry the opportunity to demonstrate its ability to provide innovative and competitive solutions to contribute fully to a resilient and low-carbon economy. The Chemical industry needs new talents to face these challenges. »
